This week’s shop feature is Mending Life Together by Olivia Hook. I love how cute this shop is as it caters to baby items. you can find so much stuff ranging from messenger bags, bibs, cloths, and even blankets. Pretty anything you need for your baby needs you can find here. Here is more information about the shop itself.
1. How did you come up with the Name of your Shop?
I came up with my name while I was at an adoption party for my moms friend. I remembered a saying my grandma used for fixing jeans and it was Mending. I didn’t want to put my name in the shop and, I also didn’t want to say sewn item, kids, toddler, or babies in the title. In case I wanted to expand the store. So I thought of other words for mending which were fixing, together. So I wanted Mending, and Together in it. Then the word Life just popped up. That’s how I came up with my name.
2. Tell us a little bit about your shop and what you think makes it unique?
What makes my items unique is that the prints aren’t something you would find in everyone elses stores. I try to find unique fabric so that you won’t find something like it in any other store. Also that a 15 year old girl made these items kinda makes them unique in their own little way.
3. What is your favorite item at the store and why?
I love my critter blankets, they are fun and like nothing else
4. What inspires create your products?
The little girl/child inside of me. Plus things that are trending and the kids that I babysit.
5. Where can we find you?
6. Do you have any coupons or discounts for us?
I always love sales, MLT20 for 20% off your complete order
7. What advice can you give for other sellers out there for their shop?
Don’t give up, always keep your eye on the competition, have fun, there is always someone looking for your product.
Now some fun facts about you?
8. What is your Favorite Food?
I love Pretzel Rods, my moms homemade tortilla chips, and I love Brownies
9. Describe us one positive event in your life in your life that you felt was a miracle to you or that you knew the Universe was there watching over you.
This one was tough and it might be a little hard to answer so here it is, I was at a summer camp in 2010 and I was there with a use-to-be friend. My Grandpa was diagnosed with Lukiema about a year before that. Earlier that day my dad took me out of camp to see my Grandpa one last time because they didn’t think he was going to make it. I said my final goodbyes and then I went back to camp. Later that night we went to Chapel. I was just starting to head out when I saw sunbeams from the sky, everytime I see sumbeams I always think of someone dying and floating up into them. I had a huge feeling that my grandpa passed away. I smiled a little because I knew he was somewhere safe. My friend looked in my direction and smiled because she knew what I was thinking. I was very sad because I knew I wouldn’t be able to see him until God wanted me home. It was a great feeling though to see those sunbeams hitting the direction where my grandpa was.
10. What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
This one is difficult because of the fact that I don’t vacation, kinda hard to do when your 15 and all. I would love to go somewhere sunny and warm. I need a nice tan. So ideal spot would be Hawaii.
11. Anything else you like to share about you?
I’m trying my hardest to save money up from my store for a car. I’ll be 16 soon (mid-September). Getting my license soon and a car would be great. I’m also trying to have something saved for college. Not exactly sure what I want to get into but I have a pretty open mind.
